CENTRAL OHIO APA NEWS AND EVENTS

Based on the surveys you were given in the Fall Session, changes have been made to the tri-cup formats and point payouts.  Beginning this session (Spring), we will start paying $3 for each earned point at the end of the session.  There will no longer be any money paid at the Tier 2 tournament.  This tournament will now be a qualifying tournament only.  Please make note of the changes and call the League Office if you have any questions.

WHAT IS YOUR ANSWER?

We asked these questions in the last newsletter sent out.  Thank you, Linda B. for being the only one who responded!  Answers are behind each question.

1.       Coaching:  Can a coach mark the playing surface with chalk? NO, Coaches cannot mark the playing surface of the table.  This will be handled as a sportsmanship violation.

2.       Equipment:  Is there anywhere in the rule book that says you must use a cue stick to play?  Can a player use a broomstick? NO, a player cannot use a broomstick. Common sense must prevail. They must play with a cue stick.

3.       Fouls:  What if a player, in the excitement of an anticipated win, forgets to shoot the cue ball and just hits the 8-ball directly into the pocket.  Is this a foul? NO, it would not be considered a foul since the cue ball was never touched.  The 8-ball should be replaced by the opponent and the shooter shoots again.

Linda, would you like more questions?
