SUMMER TRI-CUP:
I am sure a lot of players are still recuperating from the long weekend spent in Reynoldsburg at the Summer Tri-Cup tournament. Some of us spend anywhere from 30-50 hours beginning Friday morning preparing for the tournament and going until Monday afternoon, until the last pool table is removed from the

building. A lot of work goes into these tournaments at the League Office weeks before the weekend, and the entire week afterward. We would appreciate any comments you may have to help make our tournaments better for all (except the smoke and air problem – that will continue to exist).
We appreciate it when someone comes up to us at the tournament, calls or e-mails and thanks us for our efforts.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave their time to the tournament. Thanks especially to the referees who volunteered their time:
Anthony White, Larry Mickey, Don Luckhaupt, Chip Baker, Paul Yarborough, Matt Short
A special thanks to Jim and Karen Rider who spent their anniversary weekend shooting pool in Reynoldsburg with all of us.
Total payouts for this tournament were $6,000. The results are:

FALL SESSION:
We have filled several byes in the divisions. But at the same time have had some teams drop out creating byes. Going into the 4th week for most divisions, we can no longer fill the bye spot with teams. We can still fill the bye in the Lancaster division and in 9-ball in Columbus. If you know of anyone who would be willing to start a team in either of these areas, please have them contact the League Office asap.
August/September 2002
There are a lot of make-up matches to be done. Scoresheets will be in this week’s envelopes. Please schedule your make-up match within 2 weeks. If it is delayed too long, Nancy and Richard will set a make-up date for the two teams to play. If they can’t make it, the the match will result in a double forfeit for the teams.
9-Ball Teams
We currently have 9 teams playing 9 ball in Columbus. We need to get teams for 9 ball out of Delaware. There are 4 teams interested at this time. Let’s go Delaware!! Get 5 teams and Burton will play!! No matter what happens this session, we need to increase the team count for the spring session!!
TO ALL 9 BALL TEAMS PLAYING NOW:
NEW NATIONAL RULING FOR 2002:
IF THERE ARE 13 TEAMS OR LESS BY THE END OF THE SPRING SESSION, THERE WILL BE NO TEAMS GOING TO VEGAS. 14-35 TEAMS, WE CAN SEND ONE TEAM TO VEGAS NEXT AUGUST.
Don’t let all of your efforts this year go to waste. Work on building the 9-ball league for the spring now. If you have any questions, please call our office.
3-MAN SCRATCH LEAGUE
We are in the process of developing a 3-man scratch league. If anyone is interested, please let us know. If there is no interest, there is no reason to put a lot of work into something that won’t happen.
MATCHES PLAYED PLAQUE:
Plaques are going to be ordered by October 1. You need to get your $5.00 sent in now if you would like to order a plaque. The next order will probably not take place until next year.
Please e-mail us if you have any information you would like to add to the newsletter.
