CITY TOURNAMENT:

We would first like to apologize to all the teams in the city tournament for the actions of a few teams involved.

We tried to the best of our ability to control their actions, words, etc., but did not always succeed. This tournament was the worst in our 10 years with unsportsmanlike conduct from teams. The rudeness and unsportsmanlike behavior was truly unbelievable by these teams during a tournament that was so important. This is not something that we want or will allow. This league is designed for fun and enjoyment of a great sport.

We have decided to give a BEST SPORTS AWARD to MONEY 8-M-UP !! For their good sportsmanship and conduct during the city tournament. This team displayed the class that we would like to see from all teams.

We would also like to thank the referees who took time away from their families to ref in both the Tri-Cup and City tournaments.

SINGLES BOARDS:

A total of 8 singles boards have been run for the next regional to be held in the fall.

Winners of these singles boards were:

Dawn Keller, Don Reichardt, Michael Chambers, Anthony White, William Browning, Randy Hines, Steve Billingsley, and Eric Heath. These players will have the option to travel to play in the Singles Regional in another area or wait to play in the Singles Regional in Columbus in the spring.

We have one singles winner for the Spring Regional 2006 to be held in Columbus. Mitch Haaf.

Congratulations to all of these Singles Winners!

RUN SINGLES BOARDS NOW!!

Call now to run a singles board. Be one of the contestants to participate in the next Singles Regional. Who knows, you may be making the next trip to Vegas!

All that is required is a person willing to take time to set a date and time. It doesn't matter where the tournament is run. It can be in someone's basement! Make an evening out of it. Up to 8 players can participate. The total cost for the board is $120. With 8 participants, each player will pay $15. The fewer participants, the greater the cost.

We encourage you to run boards for the same skill levels (ex. 3's & 4's). It is no fun for a 3 to be in a singles tournament against a 7. As you can see above, the Regional separates the skill levels giving everyone a chance to go to Vegas. The more boards we

June 27, 2005, Page 6

run, the more participants we have in the regional and the better the chance to hold the regional in Columbus.

SUMMER SESSION:

There have been very many changes to schedules this session. Please make sure you have the most up-to-date schedule. Captains, you are not reading the bottom of the scoresheet. This is our method of communicating with you. Please make sure you read the information and share with your players.

Cues will be delivered to captains who have put together a team of 5 or more new players after week 6. If you think you are entitled to a free cue please let the office know.

PERSONAL NOTES:

Jason Lelux and Heidi Nunley were married Saturday, April 16. Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Lelux!!

Shawn and Brandy William had a baby boy on May 31. His name is Shawn Reece. All are doing well. Congratulations to this new family.

Dave Harold got his first 300 game in bowling this winter. Congratulations, Dave.

Holli DeWitt was in a head on collision April 24 and had been in the Trauma Unit at Grant Hospital. The Alley Cat and the Villa Restaurant both held benefits for her raising about $7,500.00. We would like to thank any and all players who participated. She is in a wheel chair, has a long way to go, but is on the road to recovery.

Edwin (Toe-Jam) Kinney had to have his leg amputated and has received a prosthesis. Using a cane, he is getting along very well.

Ernie Wolford and Chuckie Ross both long time APA members have passed away. Both played out of Ernie's in South Columbus.

Please e-mail us if you have any information you would like to add to the newsletter.
